Grupo Sapatero, a program by Pioneer Adhesives, Inc. made for shoemakers and shoe store owners, recently bagged the Silver Anvil Award in the 53rd Anvil Awards which happened on March 23, 2018. The award was given to recognize their community outreach program “Grupo Sapatero” under the Public Relations Programs directed at Specific Stakeholders category.

Grupo Sapatero was honored for its endeavor of revitalizing the local shoe industry in the Philippines, which has been facing a decline in their business caused by the evident surge of cheaper and foreign footwear products in the market. This program was initiated not only to give assistance to its members but also give free training and workshops, focuses on its two primary stakeholders: local shoemakers and the store owners. Grupo Sapatero was founded by Pioneer Contact Bond, a toluene-free all purpose contact cement with industrial strength intending to be the product choice for shoe repair as well as manufacturing of world-class footwear.
